“Padoge likhoge banoge Nawab, Kheloge kudoge banoge kharab” was an old saying which our grandparents used
to say and which surely not hold true in today’s world. Studies are important
but playing at least one sport in a proper way is also important. Sports field
is a great teacher in itself. It tells you how to lead your life in a
dignified, competitive manner.
In India if we talk about sports then the most loves sports
of the nation is Cricket. It is a religion in our country and cricketers have
achieved Demi god status. Though these cricketers give it all in cricket field
but some of them were equally good in the field of studies as well and today we
are going to discuss about them.
India’s highest wicket taker and a legend whose name is synonymous
with dedication and hard work in the cricket field. But many of us might not know
that he holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya
college of Engineering, Bangalore in Mechanical engineering in 1991-92.
India’s pace spearhead & he shouldered the
responsibility of Indian pace attack for almost a decade. He also holds a Bachelor
of Engineering in Instrumentation Engineering from Shree Jayachamarajendra
college of Engineering, Mysuru.
India’s most dependable batsmen in second innings of a test
match were also highly educated. He was studying MBBS when he got selected for
Indian national side. He choose cricket over medicine and rest is history.
India’s current in form spinner and one of the most
versatile bowler in Indian cricket team today has done B.Tech in Information
technology from SSN College of Engineering , Chennai.
He was a fiery opening batsman and his partnership with
Sunil Gavaskar was as famous as Sachin-Sourav opening stand. He is an engineer
with degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy ,
Chennai.
Amay Khurasia
Though he didn’t played much cricket from Indian National
side but he was one of the finest batsmen India possess in our domestic circuit.
He has already cleared IAS exams and got his degree before he got selected for
national side.
Avishkar Salvi
He is a fast bowler from Mumbai and a very renowned name in
domestic cricket circuit. He holds a post doctorate degree in astrophysics.
So we can see that people can study and pursue their passion
as well. What you need is the right kind of attitude, dedication and your
priorities set right. We would like to state the fact is being an all-rounder
in both studies as well as sports is not as difficult as it seems. It is just a
state of your mind and if it is right then you can excel in both.
