Class 5th and 8th Boards making a comeback??

Yes, you heard it right. If all goes well by the plan, board exams can make their come back at primary level as well. There was a meeting held in New Delhi by Central Advisory Board for Education and all the states has reached to a consensus that board exams need to be re-introduced at 5th and 8th Standard.  Smriti Irani, Union minister of Human Resource Development headed this meeting and school education minister Paras Jain was also present in this meeting.

The main reason behind taking these steps is the decrease in quality of the education level of the students because of provision of not to fail any students till 8th Standard. These provisions might not be there from next year.

Because of the above mentioned provision it is very difficult for schools to assess the performance of the teachers as well.  This requirement also felt in the light of Right to education act which further saw the decline in the education level of students.

Students preparing for 10th and 12th class board exams had to go under so much stress. That made them to take some drastic steps and because of this new provision was introduced at that time. So all those element should be taken care off. Kids at these levels are too young to handle any kind of pressure. How to make the environment conducive to carry out these exams is important? Also, the role of parents and teachers should be clearly defined and they should not let students get into number games.

We will keep posting about the latest updates in this regard.
